Astound Broadband has become the latest cable television and Internet
player to sell wireless phone service.
Last week, the sixth-largest cable company says it is rolling out a
limited test of its new Astound Mobile service in parts of
Massachusetts and Texas this month, with other areas supported by the
end of the year.

Subject: T-Mobile, CFPB, others experience recent data breaches
The T-Mobile data breach exposed customers’ names, birthdates,
addresses, Social Security numbers, contact information, government
IDs and T-Mobile accounts PINs.
T-Mobile says the data breach occurred between February and March;
however, it chose not to disclose how it happened and maintained that
no personal financial information or call records were exposed.

The Department of the Interior has awarded Peraton a $1 billion
contract to support its Cloud Hosting Solutions III acquisition, it
announced Thursday.
Awarded by the Interior’s U.S. Geological Survey, the $1 billion
indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract will enlist Peraton
to “manage a portfolio of cloud computing, storage and application
services across multiple vendor offerings, supplying DOI with a
flexible solution for the delivery of those cloud services,” per the
solicitation’s request for quotes issued last November.
