Rupy , Kathleen E. Scott , Stephen Conley and Kelly Laughlin On April 11, 2023, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission) published a Report and Order (R&O) in the Federal Register, setting an effective date of May 11, 2023 for certain of its rules. The R&O establishes mandatory text blocking obligations for mobile wireless providers, and builds on the Commission's previous Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM). The Commission also published a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (FNPRM) seeking comment on establishing additional robotexting rules in the Federal Register on April 7. Accordingly, comments on the FNPRM are due on May 8, and reply comments are due June 6. Below, we provide a high-level summary of the R&O and FNPRM. https://www.mondaq.com/article/news/1307696?q=1803232&n=771&tp=13&tlk=2&lk=52

Here’s what to look for and how to advocate for a connection. Picture this: You just broke ground on your soon-to-be dream home. The friendly neighbors mentioned the local internet service provider (ISP) is great. You’re already looking forward to Netflix movie nights with the family and working remotely from your cozy screened-in patio. As moving day closes in, every task is checked off your to-do list. Except one. Unexpectedly, that local ISP tells you not only do they not offer service to your location, but to run a new line to your home would cost upwards of $5,000! https://www.allconnect.com/blog/internet-in-newly-built-home
