By Shoshana Wodinsky In yet another example of T-Mobile being The Worst with its customers data, the company announced a new money-making scheme this week: selling its customers app download data and web browsing history to advertisers. The package of data is part of the companys new App Insights adtech product that was in beta for the last year but formally rolled out this week. According to AdExchanger, which first reported news of the announcement from the Cannes Festival, the new product will let marketers track and target T-Mobile customers based on the apps theyve downloaded and their engagement patternsmeaning when or how often they open and close particular apps. https://gizmodo.com/t-mobile-app-insights-download-history-web-browsing-adv-1849099320 -- (Please remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly)

For example, T-Mobile is happy to sell your data to third-party marketers. In fact, T-Mobile recently launched a program called App Insights that allows those marketers to buy user data directly from the carrier. Ad Exchanger reports that T-Mobile debuted App Insights its app-based analytics platform last week after a year of beta testing. It allows marketers to track, segment and target T-Mobile wireless subscribers based on the apps they have installed on their phone and their engagement patterns, according to the report. https://bgr.com/tech/how-to-opt-out-of-t-mobiles-creepy-new-data-collection-program/ -- (Please remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly)

(WVVA) - After T-Mobiles merger with Sprint in 2020, the company has worked to incorporate many of its Sprint customers into the T-Mobile network. As part of the process, customers were given new SIM cards to connect to the new system. But ever since making that switch, many customers in Beckley are reporting problems after a considerable drop in service. Angie Vanover is a T-Mobile customer who struggles to get service in the regions biggest city, Beckley. She says making calls and sending texts are a challenge. "Its ridiculous, to pay that much money for service youre not getting." https://www.wvva.com/2022/06/28/t-mobile-customers-southern-wva-concerned-over-ongoing-connectivity-issues/ -- (Please remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly)
