The company is widely expected to use that money to gain a majority stake in T-Mobile in the US. "Deutsche Telekom has been steadily increasing its stake in T-Mobile US and currently sits at ~48% ownership," noted the financial analysts at Raymond James in a recent note to investors. "With the capital received from the GD Towers deal [DT] should be well on the path to taking majority control of T-Mobile via the shares sale agreement with SoftBank. And we do not expect DT to sell any T-Mobile shares when T-Mobile US begins its stock buyback program by 2023." https://www.lightreading.com/5g/germanys-dt-poised-to-gain-majority-control-over-t-mobile-in-us/d/d-id/779077 -- (Please remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly)

By Rachel M. Cohen - Jul 19, 2022 Text messaging - with their markedly high "open rates" - is an especially potent form of political outreach: Since 2016, texting has become one of the most appealing ways for campaigns to engage voters or supporters, especially as so many have ditched their landlines. But as part of a broader effort to crack down on the fast-growing problem of spam calls and texts, mobile carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon have been rolling out a new policy that affects any business, nonprofit, union, or campaign that intends to send at least 3,000 messages per day. https://www.vox.com/2022/7/19/23268260/midterms-texting-10dlc-campaigns-optin-mobile -- (Please remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly)

The Maine Public Utilities Commission has said the 207 area code is predicted to run out in the final quarter of 2025. Commission Chair Philip Bartlett said Wednesday the T-Mobile investigation is part of the state's effort to extend the life of the area code as long as possible. https://spectrumlocalnews.com/me/maine/news/2022/07/14/maine-opens-t-mobile-investigation-as-state-low-on-numbers -- (Please remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly)
