Re: AT&T Operator and Directory Assistance is ending
Message-ID: <20221123031720.GA863845@telecomdigest.us> Date: Wed, 23 Nov 2022 03:17:20 +0000 From: Bill Horne <malQRMassimilation@gmail.com> Subject: AT&T urges FCC not to grant T-Mobile’s latest 2.5 GHz licenses By Monica Alleven T-Mobile won by far the lion’s share of licenses in the FCC’s 2.5 GHz auction, but AT&T is saying "not so fast" in terms of the government granting them. The auction, which closed in late August, raised a total of $428 million, most of which came from T-Mobile. T-Mobile already has a huge position in the band, thanks to its acquisition of Sprint. AT&T argues that the FCC should deny T-Mobile’s long-form application or condition its grant on T-Mobile’s divestiture of some mid-band spectrum "to avoid harm to competition and the public interest." https://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/att-urges-fcc-not-grant-t-mobiles-latest-25-ghz-licenses

The man said that the day before, he had received a supposed call from his bank investigating a fraudulent $2,500 charge to his account. The caller convinced the Broadview Heights resident to set up a Zelle account and send $1,000 in order to get back his $2,500. Presumably the same is not true for my AT&T POTS line (not that I ever dial the operator or 411). I wonder if 411 is also being disabled on mobile phones?
